INTRODUCING BRIDGEPARK

BridgePark is a linear park and streetscape initiative that connects both sides of downtown Richmond, Virginia to the James River Park System along a reimagined 9th Street and Manchester Bridge spine. It stretches from Leigh Street in the north to historic Hull Street in the south over a two-mile journey that takes in VCU’s downtown campus; the historic John Marshall House, Richmond’s sites of governance including City Hall and the State Capitol; the new Franklin Street cycleway; a significantly increased footprint and reconfigured Kanawha Plaza as a major public open space; the Federal Reserve Bank; Brown’s Island; The James River Park System; and the fine grain of the South side’s historic streets and rapidly growing residential and business community.
